Ready to paddle but don’t know where to start? 

Newfie Nautical Tours offers Intro Paddles! Perfect for those with zero paddling experience, our friendly guide will teach you all the basics, both on and off the water, ensuring you’re up and paddling in no time! Let’s make your paddling dreams a reality!

Intro Paddles cover a safety briefing, land and water basics, as well as board, paddle and all required safety gear. They are designed to get you up and paddling, safely, with no previous experience. 

We will start by welcoming you to our boat yard, where your paddle adventure begins. We will go over safety and gear then set out on the Lynn River towards Black Creek. Our route will be based on the conditions of the day. For this reason, all times are approximate.

What you will Learn

• Safety Skills – falling off safely, remounting the board, use of leash, understanding weather and paddle conditions, safety equipment, injury prevention.
• Paddling skills – lifting and carrying the board, mounting the board at the dock, prone paddling, paddling while kneeling, standing up.

What’s Included

• A safety briefing and float plan.
• Boarding and deboarding.
• Water/water bottles.
• Paddle, paddleboard, leash, safety gear (PFD, whistle, heaving line, flashlight), phone bag, 10L drybag.

What to Bring

•  Comfortable clothing that dries quickly/can get wet (swimsuit, if desired)
• Sunscreen and insect repellant

What’s Required

• No experience required for intro paddles
• Must comply with all safety equipment requirements
• Must be able to swim
• Must complete waiver prior to participation
• May not be suitable for children under 10

Sessions can be booked private, semi-private or small group (3-4 max). Bookings for semi-private and small groups must be made together.

Rates are per person. 

All experiences are weather dependent and at our discretion. Always plan to paddle. If it is not safe for the scheduled experience, an alternate adventure that is suitable for the conditions may be suggested, the experience may be rescheduled, or a refund will be issued. 

Please be respectful. Arrive on time. All cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be refunded at our discretion only.
